Fear Not
"We need to tune in to hear from God, like turning a radio dial to clarify the signal." Kathy Spampinato
This world we live in, is filled with contention, anxiety, and strife. We are not sure what is happening as we face the great unknown every day. What should we do when feelings of anxiety swirl around us and fill our thoughts? We are concerned for our children and family. We are not confident that things will turn out the way we want them to. Where do we go to ease our minds?
The Bible has words of encouragement for us. 2 Timothy 1:7 ESV says, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
The fear and anxiety we're feeling on a regular basis does not come from God. His desire is that we live in trust that He knows where we are, and what is happening. He is not distant and uncaring. Psalm 46:1 tells us that "God is our refuge and strength; a very present help in trouble." He is present to help us. We need to be able to sense that help and understand what He is saying to us. We need to tune in to hear from God, like turning a radio dial to clarify the signal.
He may use a scripture, a song, or a person to get our attention, and let us know that He is there. He may use a quiet voice in our thoughts that encourages us to let His peace reign. Do we have ears to hear what He is saying? He has given us power, love, and a sound mind. Have we learned to walk in His power and love? Have we allowed Him to establish a sound mind in us? When God is our focus, we are better able to put anxiety to rest: to welcome trust and peace of mind.
Isaiah 41:10 TPT “Do not yield to fear, for I am always near. Never turn your gaze from me, for I am your faithful God. I will infuse you with my strength and help you in every situation. I will hold you firmly with my victorious right hand.”
John 16: 33 TPT "And everything I've taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!"
God has conquered this world for you! He will bring you a peace and confidence in Him that will chase away your anxious thoughts.
Phil 4:6-8 TPT "Don't be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing, Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God's wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Jesus Christ.. Keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always."
God is speaking to us. He is with you to strengthen and to guide. That is a promise that you can hold onto today! It's time to have a heartfelt conversation with the God who loves you.
