Christianity is a walk of faith. We have not seen Jesus with our physical eyes, but yet we know Him. We have encountered Him and have experienced His love and faithfulness. His presence in our lives is undeniable, because we have been changed. We have been impacted by His life and love. His resurrection has ensured our life in Him and our hope. Being born again is awakening to the reality of Christ’s sacrifice for us, and receiving redemption through Him, and not because of our works. He is the Savior, and we are the saved.
1 Peter 1:8-9 “Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”
It is by faith that we experience the presence of God in our lives. Yet, we can truly say we have seen His glory and experienced His presence. We have heard His still, small voice, and recognized that the Holy Spirit is speaking to our hearts.
1 John 5:10 “Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has born concerning his Son. And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”
Hebrews 11:1,6 “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”
Sometimes it is hard to explain what our faith means to us, and just how we know God is speaking to us. He is an invisible God, but we recognize His actions in the lives of others, and we know His voice speaking to our hearts. The evidence is true and dependable. We have believed in hope, and seen the answers to our prayers. The heaviness in our own hearts has been lifted because God is bearing our burdens. This is the walk of faith, and it results in joy.
John 3:34-36a “For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure. The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand. Whoever believe in the Son has eternal life;”
Here is my prayer for you today, taken from Scripture. May you walk in faith and experience the joy of His presence with you today.
Psalm 5:11-12 “But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield.”
Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
