"God offers you mercy, grace, and comfort when you are stressed or in trouble. God has wisdom for tough situations and difficult people. Turn to Him, and not away." Kathy Spampinato
Have you ever felt utterly heartbroken and weary? Have the trials of life worn you out so that you do not know where to turn, and yet you know you need comfort and strength? You might instinctively reach out to a close friend for some encouragement. You might go to a mentor for uplifting words. Having a friend listen to you and sympathize with your pain is a help, and you hope they have the wisdom you need. The Bible tells us that God is a very present help in times of trouble. I would like to encourage you to trust Him with your heart, and reach out to God as your source of comfort.
1 John 4:10 ESV "In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins."
God's love for us is shown because He didn't wait for us to prove we were worthy or had earned salvation, because we could not. The Father sent Jesus to make a way to reconnect us with the Father, out of love. We owed the debt, and Jesus paid the price.
In 2 Corinthians 1:3 ESV says, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,"
God offers you mercy, grace, and comfort when you are stressed or in trouble. God has wisdom for tough situations and difficult people. Turn to Him, and not away. There is no sin too great for His forgiveness. God will not reject you! His love is unconditional and He knows exactly what you need. He might use His word, His presence, or send the friend with just the right heart to bring comfort. When you seek Him, you will find Him. That is a promise.
In the Psalms there are many stories of those who learn to cry out to God in their difficulty.
Psalm 107:6-9 "Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their destruction, He led them by a straight way till they reached a city to dwell in. Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things."
John 14:27 Jesus himself said, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."
If you truly learn how to give your burden to the Lord and trust Him, the weight of the problem is lifted off your shoulders. Your heart settles with trust in God and your mind is filled with peace that He will take care of you. Your heart is comforted, and you gain the grace and strength to persevere in the midst of tough times. Holy Spirit really is the God of all comfort, and He is available for you today. He will stay with you as long as it takes.
Why not trust God and lean on Him in your need? If you listen, you will hear His voice and sense His presence. I am praying for your healing and comfort today. Bless you, my friend.
